Date: 2012-01-28 11:48 pm (UTC)But thanks to Finnigan's antics today, the team I was leading came in last for the CCF event. We recovered pretty admirably, considering how much we were waylaid, but it still wasn't enough to surpass either Padma's team or Harry's.

Teddy heard about it, you know, and he said that we ought to have asked Seamus to do it just to make your team lose its concentration. But I know Seamus wouldn't have done it to his own teammate on purpose, even Weasley.
Still, I know winning's important to you and I'm sorry you had such a hard time. I hope you had a little fun, anyway. It's really down to your leadership that things didn't fall apart even sooner.

Date: 2012-01-28 11:59 pm (UTC)He did not try to get Weasley to not use his broom. Trying would have involved saying "Look Weasley, I've gone and jinxed your broom like an arse, so if you use it you're going to crash into the ravine and we're going to come in last place."
All he did was say something like, "Oh, maybe you had better not, yeah? Want to use mine instead?" Which of course Weasley, being Weasley, took as a slight against his own Silver Arrow. As did everyone else.

You said yourself Weasley's Weasley. And Seamus really is well annoyed at himself. Just don't hold it against him too long, okay? It's not like you're going to have problems late in life because you didn't win--and against Marvolo and Krum, at that.

Unless, of course, they had done the proper thing and told me that the broom was jinxed.

And all the twigs went brittle and most of them shattered on the way back. I mean, I think I'll ask Madam Hooch tomorrow, but I can guess what she's going to say.
I had some wicked clever charms on it, too, that Wood and Stretton showed me one time and I'd worked them over until they were dead on. Yeah. Anywiz.
