Since you'll all want to know, I've only just cornered a house elf and made this request of him (or her, hard to be certain with an elf of such decrepit years): a delivery of a parcel to Professor Dolohov's chambers containing one Bumbridge plate. The attached note read the following:

A Student of Hogwarts asks that this commemorative plate be given as a gift to Headmistress McGonagall. Would you be so kind to deliver it to her personally and discreetly?

PS - It has eyes and ears.

Harry and I took the cloak to Bumbridge's office. We were in the middle of ransacking the place when my Father showed up with Professor Dolohov and Crouch. Now they're ransacking the place.

In case further explanation is required:

- Cloak, barely large enough to fit both of us these days.
- Budged up against a cupboard that they're probably going to search, eventually.
- Do I need to say more?

So Harry's going to be off with Raz today - they're going to talk quidditch and supposedly Siz will be there, too. I was invited along, but if you're free today then I'd rather spend that time with you.

Plus, it might do Harry good to go off with Raz on his own. He's kind of odd and edgy this term; I think my habit of worrying finally rubbed off on him and I'm not sure that's a good thing. Or maybe it's just that he's so used to have something really clear and specific to focus his worries on, like escapees from Azkaban, or Tri-Wizard tournaments, that he doesn't know what to do without them.

Yesterday was wiz, yeah? Too bad I put all my galleons on Dolohov.

Hah!

Anyone catch who started up the "Take to the Sky" chant? We Take To the Sky and Never Say Die! Oi Oi Oi! - if you listen to any of the old Falcons matches from the 1970s, you'll hear it. And Professor Dolohov's definitely got the quidditcher's patter down, which is dead impressive, considering he's never walked the Pitch. Anyway, it all makes me wish I'd been born earlier so I could have seen the Razzer in a real professional match, especially that one against the Tornados when--

Oh, looks like they're putting up the final set of wards. Why do they need stupid Crouch for it I think it'll be starting soon!

Do you reckon that Professor Dolohov's and Razzer's demonstration will be a true duel where one of them will be declared the winner?

Because if so, it might be the sort of thing worth placing a gentleman's bet on. I can think of a number of others who'd be interested, as well.

But I don't want to be the one who organises the whole thing. Too bad Avery's gone, he'd be perfect. What about Montague? I'd peg him for game. Or might it be a venture that you're interested in, Blaise?

Nuisances

Lovegood, do us Prefects a favour: the next time you end up with a completely inappropriate book in lieu of the proper text, discuss the unfortunate mishap in private with the Professor. I've just had to confiscate a copy of Intra Profundis (the wrong one) from a Firstie. He (and you're lucky I'm not naming names, you-know-who) had the bright idea to tuck the book into his Charms text as a disguise, but it actually ended up being a dead giveaway. When one is reading Charms in the common room, they don't usually have three or four of their mates crowded around, trying to elbow their way in for a closer look. Meanwhile, I've handed the book over to Pennifold; she'll see that it ends up where it ought.

While I'm at it, a few of you need to embrace a little thing called the double entendre. And I don't just mean Firsties.

All that said, Dark Arts is going to be brilliant this year. Loads more work all around for most of us, but work of a welcome sort. Thank you for meeting with us individually to consider the various curriculum options, Professor Dolohov.
