Order Only - Private message to Hermione
Jun. 11th, 2014 09:35 pmHi,
I went to Sherwood today, and Moddey. It's not any place I ever thought about seeing, or wanted to see, but I was offered a tour and I didn't have anything else to do.
It was... I told them it was interesting. And I saw Sarah. She's skinny and she lives in a tent with four other people Colin showed me around.
At Moddey he asked if I wanted to say Hi to Arista and Hector, but I told him that I was expected back at 12G, though I don't think that I was.
And he said thanks for taking care of Dennis. Which, what is there to say to that.
So that's what I did. What about you?
I'm not listening to the Doors tonight. It's someone called Ziggy Stardust - almost sounds like it could be a wizard, albeit a ridiculous one. It's good, though. I can't turn it up or Sinbad will lose it, but you can probably hear it in the next room over.

I wouldn't know what to say to Colin, either, if he'd talked about Dennis.
Ziggy Stardust. Is there a picture? I don't want you to wake up Bea, either. Are you upstairs or did you bring the phonograph down to your room?
Maybe.... Do you think - ?
Well, maybe if I sit on this side of the wall, I can hear it better.

Date: 2014-06-12 04:07 am (UTC)It's certainly impressive, in its own way. And peaceful.
The picture's of a street, in New London before it was New London, with a bunch of boxes and rubbishy things lying about - oh, and autos. And there's a bloke dressed in blue holding a guitar. I reckon that's Ziggy.
I'm in my room, I brought it down here. Try the other wall?

What's he saying? It's hard to make out. Well, it doesn't matter.
Did you see Harry's question? He wants to know if he and Hydra could come over.

I'm the space invader, I'll be a rock 'n' rollin' bitch for you
Keep your mouth shut,
you're squawking like a pink monkey bird
And I'm busting up my brains for the words
Keep your electric eye on me babe
Put your ray gun to my head
Press your space face close to mine, love
Freak out in a moonage daydream yeah!
I copied that off the cover, because it made no sense to me, either.
And yeah, I saw. But. I'm not sure.
You and I can't even look at each otherno subject
Date: 2014-06-12 04:53 am (UTC)I'm not sure, either. I think it's too soon. I mean, if the whole Order were to have a meeting here, maybe that would be different. But Harry -
He'll expect us to tell him we're all right. He'll want us to, anyway.

Date: 2014-06-12 04:56 am (UTC)Everyone wants things to go back to normal. Even me, I suppose, but just to make others happy I think. That's why I went to Sherwood, because it seemed like a good, normal thing to do. And then it felt like some kind of
nightmaredream the whole time I was there. Like I was dreaming I was someone else and it was someone I didn't even know. The lyrics to "Hey, Hey, Merlin" weren't so bad when you consider she and I were both, what, twelve? Thirteen? But we worked harder on word choice than we needed to, clearly.
The actual song is good though, if you just ignore the lyrics, but I like this next one, "Starman," better.

Date: 2014-06-12 05:08 am (UTC)It's better when there's something to do, isn't it? Brewing Mr Lupin's potion. That was good. It was--I just knew it had to be perfect, so I focused on that and only that and it was as if everything else went away. And then there it was.
I spent yesterday in the library. It's ever so large. Not as large as Hogwarts, of course, but that room's bigger than it looks.
So. Do you think you'll stay here, for a while? I'm sure Mrs Longbottom wants me to go to Moddey and help with their brewing. I can't right now, of course. But maybe. After everyone comes home and they're in and out of Grimmauld all the time. Then it will be the same whether I'm here or there. People, I mean.
But maybe I should go to Sherwood, too, just to see it and so I can say I looked at all my options.

Date: 2014-06-12 05:16 am (UTC)Oh, I haven't been to the library. I should do that, next.
I suppose I will stay here. I don't really see myself fitting in at Moddy. Or anywhere else. Or here, really. So, I don't know.
But you're right, the others will show up soon. They'll want to talk.

Date: 2014-06-12 05:29 am (UTC)I didn't want him to have to check it.
Haven't you been here loads of times? I mean, it was your great-aunt's house before it was Sirius's.
Yes. They'll want to talk. I mean, I appreciate that they're keeping us informed about what's been happening but - part of me doesn't want to know. I like that there's nothing here but the books and the walls and maybe Bea when she needs playtime but she's easy to avoid. And so is everyone else. I mean, they all seem to know to let us be.
Well. Mr Lupin likes me to sit with him while he's drinking his doses of potion. But I think that's for him almost as much as for me. He was one of the first wizards who was ever kind to me. He's still very kind. But he's kind to everyone, not just me, I mean.
Do you think, maybe, tomorrow, I could listen to something while you tour the library? Instead of through the wall? It's sort of like when I had to listen to the parties in the common room from my cubby. It might be nice to hear it without something distorting the sound.
Or.
I mean, if you don't want me fooling with it. That's okay.

Date: 2014-06-12 05:35 am (UTC)Quite a few times, but certainly not loads. Auntie Walburga wasn't pleasant company, and when we did come 'round she'd not let me go wandering off. Probably didn't want me to find Ziggy Stardust.
Oh, yeah. I mean, you can come listen to it now, if you want. I can go check out the library. I'm not tired. Or, we can listen to it together. Either way.

Date: 2014-06-12 05:39 am (UTC)Well, I am, a little. Tired, I mean. But I could come and listen to one or two more songs.
I mean, if you're going to keep listening, I probably won't go right to sleep, anyway.
You don't think they'll mind? If I come in, I mean.
We can leave the door open and muffle the sound so it doesn't go down the corridor.

Date: 2014-06-12 05:44 am (UTC)No I don't think they'll mind. Last night Sinbad asked why I was turning the music up and when I said it was so you could hear it he told me that people usually listen to music while in the same room, so.
If you want the door open we can leave it open. Yes, and muffle the sound.
