No, there's no way that you can really challenge their story, but I wouldn't comment much further on it - not that you're really the sort who would.
The fact that you and I both came back with acromantula artefacts when the others did so lacklustre (excepting Teddy) will no doubt make us targets, somewhere down the line. We might as well start anticipating it now.
