Private message to Lucius and Narcissa Malfoy

Father - I want to thank you (and the other governors) for making last night such a brilliant and memorable event. Tintagel was epic and Pansy was thrilled. Everyone's still talking about it and not liable to stop anytime soon. I said my thanks to Mr Tenebridge last night but I've got a little something to send him for Christmas, as well.

Mother - You looked beautiful as always, and were as gracious as ever.

I'm going to miss the Manor this Christmas. It sounds like the party will really be something else, and of course spending time with you both is what I really look forward to. I've not stayed behind for hols since year two, when I threw that tantrum because you made me stay at the castle to keep from catching the plague. Ha, what a brat. Don't worry, I know now that you were only doing it out of concern.

Firechat on Christmas?

Hope the party goes spectacularly.

Love,
Draco

There will be plenty of time for bacchanals when you're older, my son. (Though from what I hear, you've already begun familiarising yourself with the, ah, finer points of culture. And why not, indeed? Just mind you be careful not to do yourself any mischief.)

As for mischief as it pertains to Mr Finch-Fletchley, I believe you're correct. Merlin knows your Uncle Rod certainly would not have given his consent without a similar assessment. I'm sure they were just having a good time in the dancing. Don't trouble.

But, now, you and Miss Parkinson? Is there anything you'd like to tell Mother about that? Or are you merely showing her your own old world manners, then?

No, I don't mean detentions. Though certainly that's a possibility whenever one indulges in ... contraband?

And I don't want you to think you oughtn't keep an eye on Hydra. You know she's a delicate creature, much to your Auntie Bella's dismay. She might well be glad of her cousin's fraternal protection, eventually.

Oh, dear. Am I embarrassing you, son? Mother's work is complete, then.
